NEWS CENTER - Nagihan Akarsel, a member of the Jineology Research Center, was killed as a result of an armed attack in Sulaymaniyah.
 
Academician Nagihan Akarsel, a member of the Jineology Research Center and editor of Jineology magazine, was murdered as a result of an armed attack in the city of Sulaymaniyah in the Federated Kurdistan Region.
 
Journalist-writer Nagihan was attacked in front of her house in Sulaymaniyah at around 10:00 am. The body of Nagihan, who was determined to have died at the scene, was taken to the Süleymaniye Forensic Medicine Institute.
 
Nagihan, who has made many important researches on women's journalism and women with Jineology, has been living in Sulaymaniyah for years within the scope of Jineology studies. Nagihan was working within the scope of a project for the establishment of the Jineology Academy in Sulaymaniyah, as well as the establishment of the Kurdistan Women's Library.
