A statement was made regarding the march to be held on 1 October from Amed to Ankara under the slogan ‘We are marching towards freedom with hope,’ led by Tevgera Jinên Azad (TJA). 'Women have always led the struggle'

Ahmet Doğan said, "As you know, we will gather in front of the Ceylan Shopping Centre bus stop on 1 October. A march will take place from Amed to Ankara, led by the TJA. We invite you all to the bus stop. The freedom of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan means the freedom of the Kurdish people. 250 women will march from here. As you know, women have always been at the forefront of the struggle. Women will also lead the struggle in this march. Peace in the Middle East will be peace for women, for faith, for everything. In that sense, we invite all our people to this march."

‘The march will take place with the participation of 250 women’

Ruçem Elyakut also drew attention to the purpose of the march, stating, “We consider this march to be a process initiated for women to have a say. Our march will take place with the participation of 250 women, and it is planned as a march with 5 demands, 7 headings and 7 points. We plan to conclude this march with a statement starting in Amed and by attending a group meeting in Ankara on 7 October. We plan to start our march in Amed and continue through Urfa, Antep, Adana, Mersin, Sincan and conclude in Ankara."

'Let's raise our demand for freedom together'

Ruçem Elyakut said: "This struggle, woven under the leadership of women, is a cry against the patriarchal system, exploitation, violence and isolation at every step. This march is our will as women to say “Enough is enough” and to take ownership of our lives, our bodies, our identities, and our will. In this context, our call to all women is as follows: Today, every woman is a step, every step is resistance, every resistance is existence. Come and take your place in this march of hope. Let us raise our demand for freedom together."
