KNK issues statement on the “Jin, Jiyan, Azadî” uprising 2025-09-15 14:24:36     NEWS CENTRE - The KNK Executive Council has issued a statement on the third anniversary of the “Jin, Jiyan, Azadî” uprising.    The “Jin, Jiyan, Azadî” uprising, which began in Rojhilat, Iran and around the world following the torture and murder of Jina Emînî in the Iranian capital Tehran, has passed its third year. The Executive Council of the Kongreya Neteweyî ya Kurdistanê (KNK) issued a written statement on the anniversary of the uprising.   An uprising that inspired the world   The statement said that the slogan rising in Rojhilat has become the common voice of demands for freedom in Iran and has inspired millions around the world. The statement noted that the movement, spearheaded by women and youth, has opened a new path against dictatorship and oppression, recalling that women are fighting against restrictions on clothing and behaviour as well as political exclusion, while young people are struggling against unemployment and inequality.   Women's demand for freedom    The statement continued: "Today, on the third anniversary of this uprising, we see that “Jin, Jiyan, Azadî” has become a bridge uniting all the different peoples of Kurdistan, Fars, Baluchistan, Arabia and Iran; it has become a global common language around the demand for justice and freedom. The unity of women and youth will carry the message of this movement to the whole world. Defending the rights of the people is one of the main tasks for the continuity of this revolution."    'Democratic society' message   At the end of the statement, it was emphasised that “Jin, Jiyan, Azadî” is not a simple slogan, adding, 'This is a torch of change, piercing the darkness and sparking the construction of a free and democratic society.'
