Three cities to hold ‘right to hope’ march: Let's participate strongly 2025-09-16 13:54:32     AMED - TJA and DBP called on everyone, especially women, to participate strongly in the large marches to be held for the recognition of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan's “right to hope” and the provision of his physical freedom.    The Democratic Institutions Platform will hold major marches tomorrow in Amed, Wan, and Mersin for the physical freedom and “right to hope” of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan. In Amed, the march, organized under the slogans “We are marching for freedom for the right to hope” and “We are marching for freedom for Leader Apo for the right to hope,” will start at 4:30 p.m. in front of the Diyarbakır E-Type Closed Prison in the Rezan (Bağlar) district of Amed and end in front of the AZC Plaza on Ofis Street. Çiğdem Kılıçgün Uçar, Co-Chair of the Democratic Regions Party (DBP), will also participate in the march.    Prior to the march, Tevgera Jinen Azad (TJA) activist Nur Aytemur and Narin Gezgör, Co-Deputy Chairperson of the Democratic Regions Party (DBP) responsible for organization, called for participation.    'Women must take ownership of the process'   Nur Aytemur drew attention to the meaning and importance of the march, saying, "On September 15-17, the Council of Europe will come together for the right to hope of our Leader. We believe that our Leader's freedom will greatly contribute to peace in Turkey and the Middle East. On September 17, we call on everyone, especially women, to take ownership of the process and demand freedom."    'Let's join the freedom march'   Narin Gezgör reiterated that the Council of Europe would convene for the “right to hope” of Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan, stating that they were organizing marches in this context. Narin Gezgör said, “Tomorrow, in the marches in Amed, Van, and Mersin, we will loudly demand Mr. Öcalan's freedom and call for the right to hope to be realized as soon as possible. We invite the people of Kurdistan and Turkey, young people, women, workers, laborers, and all the oppressed to join the marches.”
