Oktay G., in the Hozat district of Dersim, subjected woman to violence named E.A., threatened and raped for seven months. The incident emerged after the woman who was retained at home informed her father.

 

It was learned that E.'s father went to the Hozat District Gendarmerie Command on May 14, and after complaining, Oktay G. was detained by the gendarmerie, but was released on the grounds that the threatened E. was not complaining. It was noted that only a restraining order was made about the perpetrator.

 

She was tortured for seven months

 

E., whom Dersim Women’s Platform visited at her home, told about her experiences. E. said that she found a way on May 14 and asked for help from her father, and that the perpetrator was detained after the complaint made to the Hozat District Gendarmerie Command. Stating that she did not complain at the police station because she was afraid, E. Said: "They decided to release Oktay and made a decision of restraining order about him. I went to Tunceli State Hospital and got a report of assault. Oktay was closing me in the room at night and chain my foot. I was subjected to constant physical violence, rape, and threats. We lived in the same house with his mother and father. But even though we lived in the same house, he did not allow me to meet with his mother and father."

 

E. went to Hozat District Gendarmerie Command again yesterday and filed a complaint. Oktay G., who was taken into custody again, is still being held in the gendarmerie.

Dersim Women’s Platform stated that they would provide the necessary legal and psychological support for E.
