VAN - Many people, including MEBYA-DER co-chair Gülistan Önver, were detained in house raids.
Police raided the homes of many people, including Gulistan Önver, the co-chair of the Association for Cooperation and Solidarity with Those Who Lost Their Relatives in Mesopotamia (MEBYA-DER) around 05:00 in Van. It was learned that during the raids, in which a large number of people were detained, books and journals were seized during the searches made in the houses.
MEBYA-DER building was also searched
After the police raid on the houses, the MEBYA-DER building in the city center was also raided and searched by the police.
The names of those detained are as follows: MEBYA-DER co-chair Gülistan Önver, board members Ceyda Dindar, Mahmut Dindar and İsa Demirağaç, as well as citizens Nebi Kaçak and Nuhi Alış.
24 hour lawyer restriction
It was learned that those detained were taken to the Counter-Terrorism Department (TEM). It was stated that the number of detentions may increase.
It was also noted that a 24-hour lawyer restriction was imposed on those who were detained.
