Trees cutting down in Cudi

ŞIRNAK - Trees are cuttig down in the Besta Tikera area on Mount Cudi by village guards under the control of soldiers.
In the Besta Tikera region of Şırnak's Cudi Mountain, the village guards have been massacring of trees for days under the control of the soldiers. It was stated that it was done with the help of village guards and some citizens who went from Şenoba Town of Uludere. It has been learned that around 400 tons of trees have been cut down a day, while trees have been cut down in the region since Tuesday.
It was stated that the cutting of trees in the Besta Tikera area was carried out by approximately 70 people, most of whom were village guards, and it was learned that the trees were cut with bucksaws. It was reported that 30 tractors were brought to the area where the trees were cut and trees were taken from the region at least four times a day. Tons of cut trees are taken to the military battalion between Şenoba and Balveren.
It was stated that the tree cutting will not make on the weekend due to the restrictions about the pandemic.
The cutting down areas are usually near the military zones, which are declared as special security zones. In the past year; in Gurariştê, Gera Rûviya, Şikira Kera and Banê Elî areas where located in the countryside of the villages of Cevizdibi (Cifane), Dağkonak (Nerex), Kemerli (Gilindor), Üçkiraz (Nêvava), Karaca (Sorbitnê), Koyuneren (Bêşêrê), Anılmış (Gundikê Remo), trees were cut down for months.
