İZMİR - Stating that Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu and state-supported gang leader Sedat Peker objectified the woman body and struggle with their sexist discourse, CHP Denizli MP Gülizar Biçer Karaca called on all women inside and outside the parliament to say; "Take your hands and tongue out over the presence and name of women."
The confessions of Sedat Peker, the leader of the state-supported organized crime organization in Turkey, have been on the agenda recently. Sedat Peker’s confessions, especially regarding Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu, were brought to the parliament by the opposition parties and an effective investigation was requested. In addition, the sexist statements of Süleyman Soylu towards Sedat Peker received a great reaction from women. Republican People's Party (CHP) Denizli MP Gülizar Biçer Karaca evaluated the allegations of the Minister of Interior Süleyman Soylu and Sedat Peker about the woman body and identity in their speeches. Gülizar stated that the discourses objectifying the women's body and their struggle reflect the mentality of the government on women, and that all women inside and outside the parliament should focus on the women's freedom struggle.
‘The view of the government on women is revealed’
Reminding that the Minister of Interior is responsible for the safety of life and property of all citizens living in the country, Gülizar considered it unacceptable that the Minister and mafia member Sedat Peker made references to each other through the woman's name and women's struggle, and objectified women. Gülizar said: “Actually, the fact that both wings are fighting with each other, putting women in the middle of this struggle is actually a reflection of their guilt psychology. At the same time, it is the reveal the thoughts behind their heads when women are mentioned.”
‘All women in parliament and outside should unite’
Gülizar stated that as CHP women and all women MPs in the parliament, women and women's struggle should not be allowed to be minimized by the male mind and language, making women a meta and forgetting that women are free individuals. Gülizar said: “The only area where the government and the opposition will fight, where women deputies will unite, should actually focus on women's liberties, the empowerment of women as individuals, and the success of this struggle with women's solidarity. We look at the parliament, when it comes to power, it immediately accuses political parties over women and tries to cover up the real agenda by marginalizing women. All women, as power and opposition, should object as ‘Take your hands and tongue out over the presence and name of women.”
