Fire in Ömeryan Region under control

MARDİN - The fire that broke out in the Ömeryan region yesterday was brought under control at night.
The fire, which broke out between the villages of Çimenli (Mercê) and Çatalyurt (Kurikê) in the Ömeryan Region of the Ömerli district of Mardin, reached the villages of Kocakuyu (Bêrtê) and Ovabaşı (Metînan) in a short time with the effect of the wind. It was stated that the fire, in which the fire brigades and the villagers intervened until 03.00 at night, was extinguished, and the fire was effective in an area of approximately 2000 decares.
Citizens, who stated that there are still flames in some tree roots in areas where the flames are effective, stated that the danger in the region has been prevented, but the cooling work should continue.
