NEWS CENTER - The hunger strike against Imralı isolation and rights violations in prisons is on its 222nd day.
The indefinite-alternating hunger strike launched by Kurdistan Worker’s Party (PKK) and Kurdistan Free Life Party (PJAK) prisoners on November 27, 2020, demanding the lifting of the aggravated isolation on PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan and an end to the increasing rights violations in prisons, continues with the 45th group, and the action has entered its 222nd day.
Stating that they will continue their protests until the isolation is over, the prisoners on hunger strike said: ‘’Our demand is a very clear and extremely legal one. The isolation on our Leadership, Mr. Abdullah Öcalan, must be lifted as soon as possible, and his legal rights must be exercised. Until we break the isolation imposed on our Leadership, we will never compromise our line of resistance, and we will not take a step back.’’
