NEWS CENTER - KNK Co-chair Zeyneb Murad invited all Kurdish parties to take a stand in the face of Turkey’s attacks and occupation of the Federated Kurdistan Region.
Kurdistan National Congress (KNK) Co-chair Zeyneb Murad made a written statement regarding her works in the Federated Kurdistan Region, where she has been in political contacts for a while, regarding the cross-border operation of Turkey launched on April 23 against Avaşîn, Metîna and Zap regions.
Zeyneb, who stated that they determined that there is a basis for the establishment of national unity in the meetings she held with the parties and non-governmental organizations here, said: ‘’We believe that with a national resistance, with the support of friends and freedom defenders, we will break the attempts of attack and occupation.’’
KDP did not respond to meeting request
KNK Co-chair also gave information about the Kurdistan Democratic Party’s (KDP) attitude towards national unity efforts. Sharing that their request for a meeting with the KDP has not yet been answered, Zeyneb said: ‘’We still haven’t been able to get together with their representatives. No positive or negative response is given. They have to explain themselves why they did not respond, our door is open to all parties and organizations.’’
‘Kurds need national unity’
Stating that they worked in Federated Kurdistan for two months, Zeyneb said: ‘’It is necessary to stand against the occupants in every way possible. The Kurdish people need national unity today more than ever. Problems can be settled and solved through dialogue at the negotiating table away from civil war. Due to the lack of unity and solidarity, the defense fronts in Kurdistan are weakening. As KNK, we tried to see all Kurdish political parties, parliamentary fractions, organizations, intellectuals, media and women's organizations at the Kurdistan Region and Iraq level.’’
Zeyneb said in the continuation of her statement, ‘’All Kurdistan parties should take a stand against attacks and occupation.’’ Zeyneb invited all the people of Kurdistan, especially women, youth and anyone who wants freedom, to put pressure on the political parties to keep the political parties away from the civil war and to block the occupation of the Turkish state.
