Hunger strike action on its 168th day

NEWS CENTER - The hunger strike launched against the aggravated isolation on PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan and rights violations in prisons is on its 168th day.
 
The hunger strike launched by Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) and Kurdistan Free Life Party (PJAK) prisoners on November 27, 2020, demanding the lifting of the aggravated isolation imposed on PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan, who is being held in İmralı F-Type High-Security Closed Prison, and the increasing violations of rights in prisons, continues. While the hunger strike, which continues indefinite-alternate, is entering its 168th day, the action continues with the 34th group.
 
Abdullah Öcalan’s brother Mehmet Öcalan and his defensor Mazlum Dinç, other detainees in İmralı, Ali Konar’s brother of Ömer Hayri Konar, Hamili Yıldırım’s brother Polat Yıldırım, and Veysi Aktaş’s sister Melihe Çetin also applied for an interview for Ramadan Fest through their lawyers.
 
Neither a positive nor negative response has yet been given to the application made by the lawyers.
