Soldiers shoot two people, one of them child in Hakkari

HAKKARİ - In Derecik, soldiers wounded a child named C.E., whose brother was also shot by soldiers before, and Şahap Şendol, who was a shepherd, with a gun.
As a result of the fire opened by the soldiers in the Derecik district of Hakkari province, Şahap Şendol (23) and C.E. (17) were injured. According to the information obtained, the incident took place in Derindere (Çemêkurk) hamlet of Hacı Bey village on May 18 at 07.20. Soldiers opened fire on the shepherd Şahap Şendol, who was looking for his lost animals on the border, and C.E., who was doing a border trade. The two injured people were taken to a hospital on the other side of the border in the Federated Kurdistan Region by citizens who came to the region and their relatives. While it was learned that Şahap was discharged after his treatment, it was noted that the treatment of the child who was injured in abdomen continued.
Child’s brother was shot before
Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Hakkari MP Sait Dede shared images of the child's injury. Sait shared the footage heard of the soldiers shouting at their relatives who intervened the child with the following statements: "The images are again from Derecik, our two unarmed civilian youths were shot by the soldiers on the border line. I ask the judiciary, which proceeds in harmony with the concept of destruction and encourages the perpetrators by protecting them in cooperation. Which laws do you act according to?"
It was learned that the child was the brother of Reşat Ekinci, who was injured by the fire opened by the soldiers on December 31, 2020 in the same region.
