Constitutional Court announces reason for rejection of ‘Cizre Basements’ application

ANKARA - The reason for the rejection of the Constitutional Court about application regarding those who lost their lives in the basements during the curfew in Cizre was published in the Official Gazette.
 
The lawsuit filed in the Constitutional Court (AYM) regarding those who lost their lives on the ground floor of the building known as the "3rd basement" during the curfew declared on December 14, 2015, in Şırnak's Cizre district, which lasted for 79 days, was rejected on April 21. The reason for the rejection of the Constitutional Court was published in the Official Gazette. The reason for the rejection was "not completing the deficiency within the valid time".
 
Ahmet Tunç, Arjin Edin, Berivan Edin, Güler Yerbasan, Kemal Koç, Mehmet Akyol, Mehmet Siraç Özgül, Muhammed Ali Edin, Nermiye İverendi, Recep Demir, Sahip Baran Edin, Sait Bilgiç, Selim Özkul, Süleyman Edin, Süleyman Turgut, and Zekiye Edin, the grounds for refusal of the application filed on behalf of names above included the following statements: "Rejection of the application due to not completing the deficiency in due time without a valid excuse...".
 
The application regarding the death of 34 people, 19 of whom were children, as a result of the bombardment of warplanes on December 28, 2011, in the Roboski village of Uludere district of Şırnak, was also rejected on the same grounds.
