DİYARBAKIR - At the hearing of HDP Batman MP Feleknas Uca, the lawyers’ request to stop the trial was rejected by the court.

 

The 13th hearing of the lawsuit filed with the allegation of ‘’membership in a terrorist organization’’ based on the press statements made by Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Batman MP Feleknas Uca between 2015 and 2016 was held at the Diyarbakır 5th High Criminal Court. While Feleknas did not attend the hearing, her lawyer Serdar Çelebi was present.

 

At the hearing, the previous minutes due to the court board change were read.

 

It was stated that a warrant was written to the Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, asking about the fate of the investigation numbered 219/47619. In the reply letter, it was stated that the file was pendency, but there was no determination regarding the date of the crime or the date of the action.

 

The prosecution said that they had nothing to say to the reply letter and demanded that the missing points be corrected.

 

Lawyer Serdar Çelebi, on the other hand, demanded that they repeated their written statements and that the decision to stop be given.

 

The court board decided to reject the request of Feleknas’s lawyers to stop the trial and postponed the next hearing to January 11, 2022.
