BATMAN - Speaking at the TJA 4th Conference, the women said, “We will build the world we want together. We will shout the slogan of 'Jîn, jîyan, azadî, everywhere.”
Tevgera Jinên Azad's (TJA) 4th Conference continues on its 2nd day in a conference hall in Batman with the slogan "Emli dijî fascismê bi biryar û di azadiyê de bi insist". 700 delegates from Kurdistan, Turkey, the Middle East and Europe attended the conference organized by TJA with the aim of "building a democratic, ecological, women's libertarian life based on women's will under the leadership of women". The conference continues with the speeches of women.
'We will build the world we want'
Speaking at the conference, Rüya Kurtuluş from the Women's Defense Network said, "We can see the insistence of Kurdish women in the struggle against oppression, violence and slaughter. We can increase solidarity with such conferences. We can see that the world revolves around women's labor. It is important that we protect our own labor. Together, we are facing a multifaceted crisis. We women need to increase the struggle against the domination of men. The leading role of women in our struggle is evident. We have the power to thwart the plans to attack women. We are resisting on these lands with the awareness of this. Together we will build the world we want. We will shout the slogan of Jin jiyan azadi everywhere."
'Women's resistance plays a leading role'
Human rights activist Fatma Yavuz emphasized the importance of co-chairmanship and said that the insistence of the Kurdish women's movement on co-chairing is important. Nesrin Askar from the United Kurdish Women's Platform also drew attention to the resistance put forward by the women of the world and noted that women's resistance plays a leading role.
'Ideological and psychological attacks are taking place'
One of the speakers at the conference, the President of Rosa Women's Association, Adalet Kaya, reminded the male-dominated system's attacks on women, and said: “As Kurdish women, we are exposed to multi-layered and massive attacks. Ideological and psychological attacks are taking place. Women are targeted by paramilitary forces from the cities of Kurdistan. Women are targeted with harassment, rape and killing. This attack on our living spaces has existed for a long time. A network of struggle was formed against special war policies. It is the product of the special war concept that Pınar Gültekin also lives through today. There is a situation where people settle in big cities as a result of migration. Organizing is our most important self-defense. We must spread self-defense to the world, starting with ourselves. We must do this with a self-defense that constantly renews and strengthens itself. We must realize this by realizing the importance of solidarity in women's resistance.”
After the speeches of the conference participants, the final declaration will be announced.
