NEWS CENTER - 11 severe earthquakes occurred in the cities of Kurdistan in the last hour. While there was destruction after the earthquake felt in many cities, it was learned that many people were under the debris.

 

An earthquake with a magnitude of 7.4, declared by the Kandilli Observatory as the Martyr Kamil district of Dilok, the epicenter, occurred. It was learned that many houses were destroyed after the earthquake that occurred at 04:17 at a depth of 5 kilometers and was felt in many cities of Kurdistan, especially in Dilok, Mereş, Amed, Riha, Meletî, Semsûr.

 

According to the data of AFAD, an earthquake of 7.4 magnitude occurred at 04:17. AFAD announced the epicenter of the earthquake as the Pezercix district of Mereş.

 

While internet and telephone cuts were experienced throughout the country, the earthquake caused great panic among the people. People took to the streets in many cities.

 

Buildings destroyed in Amed

 

On the other hand, according to the first information, a building was demolished in the Office district in Amed's Bajarê Nû (Yenişehir) district. Search and rescue efforts were initiated in the building, where many people were found. As the citizens leaving their homes flocked to the gas stations, the traffic came to a deadlock. In the same district, the Galeria building was also demolished. There is great panic in the region.

The earthquake was also felt in Riha. A 5-storey building in Haliliye district was demolished. While no information could be obtained about the loss of life, it was learned that buildings were destroyed in different parts of the city.
