WAN - Participants of the ongoing Justice Watch in Wan demanded the end of isolation and the release of Abdullah Öcalan and all prisoners, and gave the message "The road to freedom passes through İmralı."

The "Freedom for Abdullah Öcalan, political solution to the Kurdish problem" campaign was launched by the friends of the Kurdish people on October 10 for the physical freedom of PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan and the political solution to the Kurdish problem. While the campaign was spreading day by day, political prisoners in prisons started a hunger strike on November 27. Outside, relatives of prisoners started a "Justice Watch" action in Amed, Wan Adana, Mersin and Istanbul.

Participants of the Justice Watch in Wan spoke to JINNEWS.

She hasn't seen his son for 8 years

Fehime Acar, who has not been able to see her son Naci Acar, who is in Erzurum Oltu Prison, for 8 years, stated that her son has asthma, cholesterol and diabetes and said, "His foot is injured and his hands are bruised in prison. First they sentenced him to 10 years. However, later his case was overturned and this time he was sentenced to 30 years in prison. He stayed in prison in Wan for a month, then they took him to Oltu. My son has been detained for 8 years and I have only been able to see him once. "The road is far, I don't have the opportunity to go and see it."

'The road to freedom passes through İmralı'

Drawing attention to the pressures in prisons, Fehime demanded that the pressures end and the prisoners be released. Stating that their wish is a free life, Fehime said: “All Kurds should stand up now. Everyone should put their hands on their conscience and be the voice of the prisoners. We do not want this cruelty. In particular, the isolation on Mr. Öcalan should be lifted and he should gain his physical freedom. The road to freedom passes through İmralı. If the isolation in İmralı is lifted, the isolation in all prisons will also be lifted. We want freedom. We do not want and do not accept this silence outside. If the Leader is free, all the prisoners and our people will be free as well."

'Let the whole world hear the voices of the prisoners'

Sosın Oktay, whose brother has been imprisoned for 27 years, stated that just as people cannot warm up before the sun rises, the prisoners and the Kurdish people cannot be free unless Abdullah Öcalan is free. Stating that there has been no news from Abdullah Öcalan for 33 months, Sosin said: “Prisoners in 106 prisons are on hunger strike against the isolation. All of these prisoners are ours. We must protect our prisoners. All prisoners should be released. We must not turn our back on them. All mothers suffer the same. That's why all mothers should support this action."

'What we want is for the isolation to end'
