RIHA - While Turkey's attacks on Northern and Eastern Syria continue, ANHA reporter Dîcle Êhmed, who follows the developments from Kobanê, said, "Whenever the Turkish state gets into a deadlock in the mountains of Kurdistan and gets stuck in its own domestic politics, it attacks Rojava."

Turkey's attacks against Northern and Eastern Syria continue. While civilian populated areas were targeted in the attacks, many people lost their lives. On the other hand, the silence of human rights organisations, especially the United Nations (UN), on this issue draws attention.

The Press Liaison Centre of the Internal Security Forces of Northern and Eastern Syria announced the balance sheet of Turkey's attacks. The balance sheet is as follows: A total of 685 attacks, 99 by reconnaissance aircraft, 13 by warplanes and 573 by artillery shelling, were carried out in the region. In these attacks, 17 people, including 14 civilians and 3 security forces, lost their lives, while 48 people, including 39 civilians and 9 security forces, were injured.

Hawar News Agency (ANHA) Reporter Dîcle Êhmed, who follows the developments in Kobanê, made evaluations to JINNEWS.

Air and ground attacks

Stating that there were attacks against all 4 cantons in Northern and Eastern Syria, Dîcle said that a total of 63 villages and cities were targeted within the scope of these attacks. Dîcle said, "Since 23 October, the Turkish state has been continuing its attacks both from land and air. For 3 days uninterruptedly, the invading Turkish state has been attacking with tanks, artillery and drones. Of course, these attacks are not the first time, whenever the Turkish state comes to a deadlock in the mountains of Kurdistan, whenever it gets stuck in its own internal politics, it attacks Rojava. In the last attack, warplanes were used, in the same way, it is trying to legitimise itself with these weapons of war."

‘Civilians are being targeted’

Noting that the occupied places are tried to be legitimised with the attacks, Dîcle stated, "They want to ensure that the people live in constant fear. Therefore, they target living spaces. For example, bread bakeries, gas and electricity stations, wheat warehouses, streets... In these attacks, civilians, especially women and children, are massacred."

‘Massacre in progress’

Underlining that the attacks since 23 October have continued uninterruptedly, Dîcle said the following: ‘In Til Rifat, Şehba, Efrîn, Kobanê, Minbic, Cizîr region, Eyn îsa, civilians were massacred and wounded in all these places. There was a massacre in Til Rifat 2 days ago, women and children were killed while they were sleeping. Similarly, many children were martyred in Minbic. Similarly, while workers were working in Kobanê yesterday, 1 worker and a member of the internal security forces were martyred in the attacks against them; 4 internal security forces, 7 workers and a child were wounded. In Cizîr, 8 workers were targeted while they were working at the station."

‘The aim is to expel the people from the region’

Dîcle added that there is a shortage of water and electricity in many places due to the targeting of water and electricity stations in the attacks and added, "The camps established in Şehba were also targeted due to the attacks on Afrin in the past years. There was material damage in the camp. The people are on the streets against the attacks of the Turkish state. They express that the people are defending their own lands and that they are not afraid of the tanks and cannons of the Turkish state. On the other hand, they state that they will resist against the occupation. The people of Kobanê continue their lives. The only aim of the Turkish state is to expel the people from the region."
