AMED- We asked the people of Amed about the Imrali Delegation's meeting with PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan. While the people of Amed stated that the meeting was positive, they warned against trusting the state.

 

The Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) Imrali Delegation held a meeting with PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan in Imrali Island on 28 December. After the 3-hour meeting, Abdullah Öcalan presented 7 articles for the democratisation of Turkey.

 

After the meeting, the delegation held talks with political parties and met with imprisoned politicians Figen Yüksekdağ, Selahattin Demirtaş, Leyla Güven, Semra Güzel and Selçuk Mızraklı.

 

 

We asked the people of Amed about the meeting with Abdullah Öcalan.

 

Many of the women we spoke to found the meeting with Abdullah Öcalan positive, but emphasised the cautious approach of the İmralı delegation and that the state should not be trusted immediately.
