NEWS CENTRE - While the lives of people in Kobanê, which has been under siege for 14 days, continue to be at risk, medicines are also running out.

Kobanê has been under siege for 14 days, along with attacks by HTS, DAISH and gangs affiliated with Turkey on Northern and Eastern Syria. As a result, medicine, fuel and food supplies cannot be obtained in Kobanê. Furthermore, the city's electricity has been cut off. The people of Kobanê are protecting their neighbourhoods and continuing their resistance under these harsh conditions.

According to information provided by doctors, not all medicines are available due to the siege. Blood pressure and diabetes medication, in particular, have run out. Cancer patients cannot leave Kobanê and therefore cannot continue their treatment. Baby formula is also unavailable. Due to power cuts and fuel shortages, some sections of the hospital have become inoperable.

According to health sources, if medicines and baby formula are not supplied, serious health problems are inevitable.

Vegetables and basic foodstuffs have also run out in the Kobanê market. The lives of approximately 600,000 people are currently in extreme danger.

Four children have lost their lives due to the cold during the siege. The situation of all children, patients and, in general, all residents of Kobanê is currently at risk.
