Swiss Women's Movement takes over ‘Freedom for Öcalan’ vigil

NEWS CENTER- The Freedom for Öcalan Vigil held in front of the Council of Europe (CoE) has been taken over by Swiss Women's Movement this week.
The Freedom for Öcalan Vigil held in front of the Council of Europe (CoE) in France city of Strasbourg, continues on the 75th week. Saadet Kuran, Saliha Öcalan, Tenzile Yusuf and Sultan Zor have taken over the vigil this week on behalf of the Swiss Women's Movement. The movement members took over the vigil from German- Düsseldorf group.
‘We will stand unless our leader becomes free’
Saadet Kuran, the spokesperson of the group that took over the vigil on behalf of the Women's Movement, recalled that the vigil has continued for five years and she said the struggle will continue until Abdullah Öcalan becomes free. “We will stand unless our leader becomes free,” said Saadet and she underlined that the resistance will be strengthened.
Saying that the PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan is the one, who as women they believe in and who contributes in raising awareness of women, Saadet expressed that they will follow Abdullah Öcalan’s path for as long as they live.
“The leader has said, ‘The society will not be free unless the women are free, I won’t be free’ and we are saying, ‘to live is to resist’ and let’s follow our leader’s path,” said Saadet.
