ANKARA – Two years have passed since Ankara Massacre occurred. As the war has deepened over the past two years, unprecedented demolition and massacre policies have been put into effect. The willpower exhibited by people for peace on June 7 was imprisoned, bombs of Daesh hit cities. The citizens, who gathered at Ankara Railway Station on October 10 for "Labour, Peace and Democracy" rally, continue to shout their demand for peace despite all massacres. And the banner reading “How we miss to look at unbloody sky” unfurled that day still remains.

Two years have passed since Ankara Massacre organized by Daesh and state elites on October 10.

On October 10, 2015, the citizens took hundreds of buses and departed from many cities of Turkey and Kurdistan saying “We go to bring peace”. After bomb attack on the rally of the HDP in Diyarbakır on June 5, 2015, members of the Youth Wing and the Socialist Youth Associations Federation (SGDF) travelled to Kobanê and on July 20, 2015 they were killed in the suicide attack of Daesh. However, those who defending peace against death wanted to shout peace one again on October 10 to show they weren’t intimidated. They began to gather at the Ankara Railway Station from the early hours of the morning for the "Labour, Peace and Democracy" rally to be one of the biggest peace rallies in the history of the country. The banner reading “How we miss to look at unbloody sky” unfurled in the front of rally area, but the peace dove was covered in blood. While the people were saying, “This Square is bloody square”, two suicide bombers, members of Daesh, killed 102 people and wounded hundreds at 10:04 a.m.

Suruç Massacre and growing war process

Political power closing its eyes against the massacre of Daesh on June 5, 2015, aimed to break the will of the elections that would take place two days later. But the power never counted the powerful will of the people shaped on July 7. For this reason, the political power hasn’t tolerated the people's will and democracy put its signature under many massacres in the country. After Diyarbakır massacre, on July 20, a bomb attack was organized against the members of the Youth Wing and the Socialist Youth Associations Federation (SGDF), who wanted to take toys to children within the scope of construction works in Kobanê. After the massacre, in which 33 socialists lost their lives and hundreds were wounded in the massacre, the state drove into a chaos.
