A journalist who shares the pain of women with her pen: Dilîşan Îbiş

SERÊKANIYÊ –Journalist Dilîşan Îbiş, who was killed in the attack of Daesh, kept her struggle to tell the truth to the people, while sharing the pain of women with her pen in Manbij, Raqqa and Deir ez-Zor. Her colleagues promised to take her struggle from where she left.
Journalist Dilîşan Îbiş was born in Kobanê on September 26, 1993. Dilîşan started to work in journalism in 2013 and began to work for Dengê Kobanê (Voice of Kobanê) Radio. She followed the war in Kobanê for the radio and then she went to Cizir Canton in 2014 and she worked for Dengê Cudi (Voice of Cudi) Radio there. And then she returned to Kobanê and became a correspondent of Ronahî TV. She followed the operations of Sirîn, Manbij, Martyr Gelhat and lastly the operation Cizire Storm.
Lastly, Dilîşan took the road to Xuraî region located between Hesekê and Deir ez-Zor with her comrades Rizgar Deniz and Hogır Mıhemed for Hawar News Agency (ANHA). Dilîşan, who wanted to cover the last situation of civilians rescued from Daesh, was killed in Daesh attack on a group of civilians. Dilîşan’s colleague and comrade Hogır Mıhemed had been seriously wounded in the attack and he passed away in the hospital.
Employees of Waşê u Kanî Radio in Serêkaniye commented on the attack on journalists and they promised to empower Dilîşan’s struggle.
Sozan Alî, one of administrators of the radio, Dilîşan worked in the press area a lot and added, “Dilîşan followed closely the Ezidi women rescued from Daesh and suffered a lot. She kept her struggle in the press area to tell the truth to the people.”
‘Women journalists are particularly targeted’
Emphasizing that Dilîşan had an important role in the press area, Sozan pointed out that women journalists are particularly targeted in recent days. Sozan said, “Journalists were particularly targeted in the bomb attack. Dilîşan was resisting for women against male mindset. For this reason, women journalists are among the targets of the gangs. Martyr Dilîşan is a personality that will never be forgotten. We will continue our works on the path to truth of Nujiyan Erhan, Deniz Fırat and Dilîşan.”
‘Dilîşan shared the pain of women’
Şêra Osê, who works for the same radio, said, “Martyr Dilîşan shared the pain of women with her pen in Manbij, Raqqa and Deir ez-Zor. As women journalists, we will always follow her efforts. We will keep the struggle of Dilîşan, Xerib, Nujiyan, Hogir and Sariya to the end. We will repeat this promise everyday with their resistance.”
