ANKARA - Police closed the Konur Street with their shields on the 357th day of the “We want our jobs back” action and detained two people.
The hunger strike launched by academic Nuriye Gülmen and teacher Semih Özakça, who were dismissed from their duties by emergency decrees has entered in its 237th day. The “We want our jobs back” action carried out by the supporters of educators after their arrest has entered in its 357th day. A group wanted to make a statement in front of the Human Rights Monument on Yüksel Avenue; however, police didn’t allow them and closed the way to Konur Street with shields. The group wanted to make the statement there but police attacked them.
Police detained two protesters shouting the slogan “Nuriye and Semih should be reinstated”.
