Helpfulness run supported by Adım Adım Initiative ("step-by-step" in Turkish) will be organized in Istanbul’s Belgrad Forest on November 12, Sunday. 46 NGOs will join the run organized within the scope of ‘Run for goodness’ the project. This year, the Women’s Solidarity Foundation will join the run for the first time. The Women’s Solidarity Foundation member Nihan Damarlı spoke to BirGün daily and she said that the helpfulness run has been organized in order to create awareness and resources for NGOs through sporting activities.
Nihan told the daily how they decided to join the project. Nihan stated that they join the project for the Women’s Solidarity Foundation and that they have given free social, legal and psychological support to women subjected to violence in Istanbul. Nihan said, “We can reach many people through this project and the people run for us create awareness for the foundation.
38 people will run
“38 people, including five members of the foundation, will run for the foundation. The 33 people, who prefer to run for us, perhaps heard about the Women's Solidarity Foundation for the first time. These people wanted to do something for our foundation and for the women subjected to violence and they preferred to run. Through this project, we found the opportunity to create a communication channel that we have extended and developed.”
