ADANA- A 14-year-old child named Z.Y. was tried to be forced into marriage in Adana province by her family. Women reported that to the police and the child’s father was taken into custody.

 

Family of 14-year-old Z.Y. wanted to force their daughter into marriage in the Güzelevler Neighborhood of Adana’s Yüreğir district. Thereupon, Z.Y. run away from home several times and took shelter in the child protection institution. However, Z.Y. had to return to home due to her family intervention. Women in the neighborhood and some of the child’s relatives heard a wedding party would be organized for Z.Y. and reported that to the police. The child’s father has been taken into custody and Z.Y. has been taken to Children’s Branch Police Station.
