ISTANBUL - On the International Transgender Day of Remembrance, killed transgender people were memorialized in the person of Hande Kader.
On the International Transgender Day of Remembrance, killed transgender people were memorialized in the person of Hande Kader. Trans Hande Kader was abducted in front of French Lape Hospital in Istanbul’s Şişli district on August 4, 2016 and her dead body was found on August 12.
Anti- transphobia people gathered in front of the hospital and carried a banner reading, “We don’t mourn, and we memorialize hate crime victims transgender people with Hande’s rebel. The statement made during the remembrance emphasizes the importance of the struggle against the state politics and hate crimes against the transgender people. The people shouted ‘Long live life against hate’ slogan and the remembrance ended after leaving carnations on the ground.
