ANKARA - The hunger strike lunched by dismissed educators Nuriye Gülmen and Semih Özakça continues on its 272nd day. Nuriye, who was released from prison on December 1, has been banned from speaking to journalists by Governorate and Police.

 

The hunger strike lunched by dismissed educators Nuriye Gülmen and Semih Özakça continues on its 272nd day. On December 1, the sixth trial of two educators was held and Semih was acquitted of all charges while the court has sentenced Nuriye to 6 years and 3 months in prison and ruled her release. After her release, journalists, who want to speak to her, haven’t been allowed to speak to Nuriye. The police didn’t allow the journalists going to the home of Nuriye to see her on the ground that Ankara Governorate and Police Headquarters have banned to see her.
