Protests in prisons against ‘one-type uniform’ imposition

İZMİR - Woman prisoner Didem Akman allegedly set her ward on fire to protest “one type uniform” practice put into effect by the emergency decree No. 696. Furthermore, the prisoners in Tekirdağ F-type Prison are reportedly protesting the practice by knocking on the wards’ doors and shouting slogans.
The Revolutionary People's Liberation Party/Front (DHKP/C) member Didem Akman, who is prisoner in İzmir Şakran Women’s Prison, allegedly set her ward on fire to protest “one type uniform” practice put into effect by a statutory decree issued by the AKP government. According to news published on social media by “Tutsakların Sesi (Voice of Prisoners)”, Didem set her ward on fire in the morning. No information has been obtained on Didem’s health condition.
Furthermore, the prisoners in Tekirdağ F-type Prison are reportedly protesting the practiceby knocking on the wards’ doors and shouting slogans.
