DİYARBAKIR - The families, who reacted against “one-type” uniform imposition, which is wanted to be actualized in prisons, called Kurdish people to resist against the practices that are wanted to be developed in prisons.
The families of prisoners continue to react against “one-type” uniform imposition, which is wanted to be actualized in prisons by statutory decree law no.696 within the scope of emergency decree. Stating that her son is in prison as political prisoner, Sabiha Akkaya said that prisoners including her son told her at the contact visitation that they wouldn’t accept “one-type” uniform imposition.
The prisoners also told Sabiha that if it was necessary, they wouldn’t take part in visitation and wouldn’t stand trial and they wouldn’t go to hospital even they got sick. Sabiha stated that they will try to announce their reactions to the public in this way.
Stating that the pressures and one-type uniform imposition is a cruelty, Sabiha emphasized that they will not accept these practices and they will develop their reactions by using their democratic rights.
‘We will stand strong against one-type’
Recalling that the pressure and cruelty imposed by government in prisons, have been done in previous years, Sabiha noted that they are trying to hold whole society captive by developing cruelty over Kurdish people. Sabiha stated that there is not any point that has changed when we compare this process with the past process in previous periods, and emphasized that the government focuses on prisons and wants to practice cruelty, pressure and torture on the prisoners. Stating that as Kurdish people they have resisted against pressures, cruelties, and denials for years, Sabiha expressed that the prisoners will stand strong against inhuman treatments that they wanted to practice on prisoners.
Calling all democratic public opinion particularly prisoners’ families for carrying out actions against attacks given on to prisoners, Sabiha said, "We will continue our struggle until all the political prisoners, particularly our Leader become free and all prisons are going to be removed."
‘We should raise the struggle’
One of relative of a prisoner Nazime Uyanık said, “My son Hasan Uyanık was in Diyarbakır prison but he was exiled to Sincan Prison then exiled to Bolu and lastly he was exiled to Kayseri Prison. Me just like other families of the prisoners don’t accept one-type uniform imposition and I will object to this. We, as families should come together, should be the voice of our children and we should help them to take attention. We will do what is necessary. We won’t stop even for one day from this day on. We should support each other and should raise our struggle as Kurdish people”
