DİYARBAKIR - A new indictment was filed for Dersim Municipality Co-mayor Nurhayat Altun  on charges of “being a member of a (terrorist) organization”. The indictment includes Gürbüz Topçu’s statements. Gürbüz Topçu, who was catched as seriously wounded in the clashes in Nurhak and has been subjected to torture for days, says the statements don’t belong him.

 

A new indictment was filed for arrested Democratic Regions Party (DBP) Dersim Municipality Co-mayor Nurhayat Altun by Tunceli 1st High Criminal Court on charges of “being a member of (terrorist) organization”. In the indictment, it is stated that one person named Özer Altaş made an application for Nurhayat to Prime Ministry Communication Center (BİMER). In the application Özer Altaş stated that Nurhayat took part in International Zilan Woman Festival on June 18, 2016 in Dortmund city in Germany and she made a speech there.

 

Gürbüz rejected the statements

 

The indictment includes statements that are claimed to belonged to Gürbüz Topçu (Aza Çüngüş), who was catched as seriously wounded after the clash in the Nurhak district of Maraş on August. In the statements claimed to belonged to Gürbüz, who was seriously wounded when he was taken into custody and has been subjected to torture for days, includes the information that Nurhayat came with people to an area that there was a bombardment by TSK and cleaned the rubbles at that moment, it is claimed that Gürbüz said that he saw Nurhayat. Then, it is learned that Gürbüz rejected what is written in the indictment and said that he didn’t give statements like these.

 

The Prosecutor's Office took rejected statements into account!

 

The prosecutor’s Office evaluated whole file and claimed “Nurhayat acted to help to the terrorist organization in order to make the terrorist organization reach their aims and ideology within the scope of Union of Kurdistan Communities (KCK)”. The Prosecutor’s Office also considered the statements that Gürbüz didn’t accept. 

 

The indictment, which was filed on the grounds of "being a member of terrorist organization", was sent to the Tunceli 1st High Criminal Court and demanded to be added with the trial that she was jailed pending trial.

 

The court accepted the indictment filed by the prosecutor’s office, and added the case with the case in which Nurhayat was jailed pending trial. The trial's hearing will be held in February.
