Detention for Afrin asked in Parliament

NEWS CENTER - As detention operation against those who react to the attacks on Afrin has continued, HDP Van MP Bedia Özgökçe has posed a parliamentary question to the parliament on detentions and investigations.
Operation launched by AKP government on Afrin continues. Police raided the building of Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) in Nusaybin district of Mardin province in the morning. After four hours search in the building, the police seized several banners and photographs of three Kurdish politicians Sakine Cansız, Fidan Doğan and Leyla Şaylemez, who were killed in Paris, France.
Meanwhile, at least 40 people, including politicians, representatives of NGOs, representatives of faith, doctors, journalists, members of unions and students have been detained for their anti-war posts on social media against the attacks on Afrin. Four journalists are among the detained people.
Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Van MP Bedia Özgökçe has posed a parliamentary question on detentions and investigations to be answered by Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu and Justice Minister Abdülhamit Gül.
Several asked questions are as follows;
*How many people have been detained for demanding peace against the operation in Afrin since January 23, 2018?
* Office of the chief prosecutor has urgently opened the investigation after the President commented on the people demanding peace, is this coincidence?
*How many people have been detained for their social media posts since 2013?
