Êzidi women: Attack on Afrin is continuation of Shengal

AFRİN - Resistance in Afrin, where is under attacks of Turkey and FSA, has another meaning for Êzidis living in Afrin. Êzidis never forget hundreds of women and children were abducted and genocidal attacks on Shengal on August 3 by Daesh. “We will now allow these attacks,” said the Êzidis.
In Afrin, where Kurdish, Arab, Albanian, Turkmen people and religious beliefs of Alevis, Êzidis. Muslim and Christian live together, Êzidis live many villages including Fakîra, Qastel Cindo, Sinko, Baflan. The Êzidis, who have organized themselves to protect their identity, also have women’s organization. Afrin Êzidi Women’s Union member Rehîme Dedo said they condemned the attacks as children of the people resisting during the edicts.
‘They will not able to enter our lands’
“We never forget genocidal attacks on our people in Shengal and abducted thousands of women in 2014. Today Daesh gangs and the forces behind them attack Afrin for the same purpose again,” Rehîme said, “We stand by the resistance of YPJ/YPG. They are the children of these people and they make the supreme sacrifice to protect all of us. They (Turkish army and FSA) will not able to enter our land thanks to this resistance.”
‘Attack on Barin is an attack on Êzidî women’
Another Afrin Êzidi Women’s Union member Gulê Zên El Dîn said they condemned the attacks. Recalling the attack on the body of YPJ fighter Barin Kobane, Gulê said this attack was the same attack on Ezidi women.
“We found our identity in the philosophy of Leader Apo (Abdullah Öcalan), we knew ourselves with him and we are fighting to make his philosophy vital,” Gulê said, “Afrin people unite against these attacks with all people and beliefs. These attacks are against the Kurdish women and for this reason the women resist more. Those who attacking Afrin will be defeated how those who attacked Shengal were defeated.”
