AFRÎN - “In our games, Erdoğan and his gangs are always defeated, this will come true,” said the children of Afrin while talking about the resistance ongoing for 31 days.
The children playing on the streets of Afrin, where the attacks of Turkey and Turkey-backed have entered the 31st day are growing up with the stories of the resistance. The children aged between six and 12 are also aware of the process and the theme of their games is always resistance.
Hêva Hebeş is a child from Afrin and she said, “Turkish state is attacking Afrin. They want to take our city from us, it is just a dream. We will not allow them to enter here.” Another child named Ehmed Hebeş said, “They kill the children, they are bad people. The people killing the children cannot be good people. Our schools are closed due to the attacks of Turkey and we cannot go to school. The YPG/YPJ will kick them out and we will go to school again.”
‘They are defeated even in our games’
“We want to be free, play freely in the streets and go to school. The fascists want to take our lands but we will not allow them to enter here. They are killing the children, they are murderers, and the murderers cannot stay here. The whole world must unite and stop these murderers,” said Zeyneb Hebeş. “The warplanes of Turkey fly over us, they try to scare us with these noises but we aren’t scared,” Ehmed Muhemed said, “Because we trust our fighters. They defeat Erdoğan and his gangs even in our games.”
Another child named Xelîl Elî spoke as follows; “All of us are living here, women, children and young people are among us and we are very crowded. They try to kill all of us. I am calling on the children in the world; hear our voice, we want to play freely on the streets. We want to go to school. We don’t want the invaders here.”
‘At first we were afraid but now we aren’t afraid’
Muhemed Muhemed talked about the airstrikes and said, “We want to play but the warplanes fly over us every day. At first we were afraid of them but now we aren’t afraid of them. We will not be afraid of them anymore, we will kick them out.”
