ANKARA - Ankara 17th High Criminal Court has announced the reasoned decision for jail sentence given to Aysel Tuğluk. The court justifies its decision by showing the legal marches, press statements, sit-in protests she attended and all speeches she made within the structure of the DTK (Democratic Society Congress).

The reasoned decision for jail sentence (10 years) given to Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) former deputy co-chair, and former MP Aysel Tuğluk has been announced by Ankara 17th High Criminal Court. Aysel Tuğluk was tried for allegedly “being the leader of a terror organization.” The court justifies its decision by showing the works of Aysel, who was also Co-chair of the DTK, as a “crime”.

The court had alleged that DTK was founded by the directives of the PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan through his lawyers. In the reasoned decision, the court has alleged that Aysel Tuğluk was elected as Co-chair of the DTK founded in 2007 by the directives of Abdullah Öcalan.

All protests she attended are a crime because of her political identity!

The court has showed the protests and marches Aysel attended as a crime in the reasoned decision. The court has alleged that Aysel took directives from the administrators of the organization (terrorist) to carry out all activities.

The court sentenced Aysel Tuğluk to eight years in prison for membership in a terrorist organization but then increased her sentence to 12 years. The court eventually reduced her jail sentence to 10 years.
