MARDİN - Women of Mardin, who demand the isolation imposed upon the PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan to be lifted, said they would go to polls on June 24 against isolation and pressures.
The aggravated isolation imposed upon the PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan, who hasn’t been allowed to see his family and lawyers since September, 2016, is going on. “This chaos will end; he is the only person who will bring peace,” said the women of Mardin and they demanded the isolation to be lifted.
‘First the isolation should be lifted for peace’
Halime Işık, one of the women, reacted to the isolation imposed upon Abdullah Öcalan and said, “The reason for the current situation of this country is the isolation. If the state asks for peace, it first should lift the isolation. He hasn’t been allowed to see his family and the applications of his family and lawyers applications to see him have been rejected. He doesn’t deserve to be in prison. A person defending peace for all people in the world and justice shouldn’t be there now.”
‘We will show our will in the most powerful way’
Pointing at the early election to be held on June 24, Halime said, “We will go to polls on June 24 against the isolation and for our demand for peace and freedom. We will show our will in the most powerful way on this day.”
‘Isolation should be lifted immediately’
Türkan Dunç stated that Abdullah Öcalan is a person fighting for the rights of not only the Kurdish people but also all persecuted people in the Middle East and in the world. Türkan continued to talk as follows; “They don’t lift the isolation on Leader Apo because he demands democracy and equality for the people. The whole world knows that. We demand this isolation to be lifted immediately. We will put all of our efforts in working until June 24. As all people of Mardin, we will go to polls on that day.”
