ANKARA - Jailed Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality Co-mayor Gültan Kışanak stated that the tradition of a free press has been targeted once again, “Özgürlükçü Demokrasi newspaper was always the voice of the prisons,” added Gültan.

 

Jailed Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality Co-mayor Gültan Kışanak sent a letter from Kocaeli F-type Prison No.1 and she reacted to the appointment of the Saving Deposit Insurance Fund (TMSF) to the Özgürlükçü Demokrasi newspaper as trustee and the detention of the employees of the newspaper. In her letter, Gültan stated that the Özgürlükçü Demokrasi newspaper is the voice and ear of the prisons.

 

Noting that the tradition of a free press that began its journey with the motto, “The truths will not left in the darkness” has been targeted once again, Gültan said, “I condemn the appointment of the trustee to Gün Printing House and Özgürlükçü Demokrasi and I hope it will reunite with its readers soon.”
