‘Let's form an alliance of peoples against the AKP-MHP alliance’

DİYARBAKIR - “Let’s form an alliance of peoples against the AKP-MHP alliance,” say the women of Diyarbakır and they call on the people to stand up for the ballot boxes.
Actions and activities have been banned in many cities of Kurdistan following the decision to hold an early election taken by the Justice and Development Party (AKP) and the opposition Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) alliance. Women of Diyarbakır stated that the ban has been imposed in order to prevent the election works of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) and they underlined that an alliance of peoples should be created against the AKP-MHP alliance.
‘The laborers should stand up for the ballot boxes’
Hülya Alökmen Uyanık emphasized that the AKP is trying to exist itself by exploiting the achievements of peoples and laborers and she said that particularly the laborers should stand up for the ballot boxes. Hülya called on women and said, “The winner of the election to be held on June 24 will be the people of Kurdistan and Turkey. Let’s be one voice and form an alliance of peoples against the AKP-MHP alliance. Let’s protect the ballot boxes against misogynists and labor exploitation.”
‘Fair elections cannot be held under these conditions’
Underlining that the election to be held in period when politicians are imprisoned cannot be fair and legitimate election, Hülya Işık emphasized that the HDP Co-chairs and Co-mayors should be released immediately. Stating that the ongoing economic crisis and the skew in the education system should be resolved immediately, Hülya said, “the country becomes the country of problems but no one takes care of these problems. They say an election will be held. Does anyone have any idea this election will be held in what kind of environment?”
‘The snap election is the declaration of collapse’
Party of Labour (EMEP) member Çağla Yolaşan stated that the achievements of peoples and laborers have been exploited by the regime of the state of emergency. Çağla said, “As Party of Labour, we will continue our struggle against ‘One-man regime” and the pressure regime that is imposed on the people. As a party supporting the HDP for the election, we will continue to stand up for our votes on June 24.”
‘Let’s go to polls against oppression’
Reminding the ongoing political operations against politicians, journalists and students, Ayşe Duran pointed out that all women should form an alliance for the election. Ayşe continued to speak as follows; “Let’s go to polls and stand up for our votes to be response for the oppression and injustice imposed on the people. Statement for peace is being tried to be terrorized. Our children have been arrested for demanding peace but we will continue to keep our children's trust in peace as mothers.”
